How did we get here with call of duty black ops 4 ?

Call of duty black ops 4 now has microtransactions because when it launched, it didn't have them.

And the reason that the microtransactions weren't present in the launch day wasn't even the case of not being finished in time, And the line "our game isn't ready yet, but we are going ahead and release it anyway" isn't even controversial enough to catch the presses attention these days, so they go ahead and use it because we let them.

But the reason they are using that excuse is to mask the real reason why they are doing it which is much much worse.

Call of duty black ops 4 launched without microtransactions because Activision found a way to game the system, to avoid the huge issue that they are facing, In the wake of Battlefront 2 loot box controversy and an increasingly hostile consumer environment, huge gaming corporations like Activision are finding it increasingly more difficult to avoid backlash when they try and implement their questionable money-making system .

But this is an evil genius move that Activision have played here.

Activision avoided most of their backlash from microtransactions monetization model and backups for by providing the reviewers which a copy of the game which included no microtransactions

If the reviewers can't see the microtransaction then they can't in their reviews, That means the consumers don't talk about what issues these microtransactions are causing and the review scores are pretty much unaffected, but once the ink is dried on those reviews, they are free to implement any monetization or microtransactions model that they want relatively backlash free because how often the game get re-reviewed? not very often, How often there is a game's review get updated? again, not very often.

Abd these days the game's changing all the time, the content being added all the time, updates fixes patches and all that, games are very rarely are in the same state they were at launch.

So maybe reviews get updated, maybe we should read reviews.

And this is the weakness in the system that Activision spoiled here.

EA Devs Mock Battlefield V Hate, Get Political & Pledge To Fight On...?

So if you not have heard Battlefield V has been released and it's not doing very good, physical sales are down to more than half on Battlefield 1, And the game has significantly discounted by 50% which is not a good sign because it technically launched 2 weeks ago.

But the big reason for it not doing so well is because of Electronic Arts (EA) creating divisions, It all started with the debut trailer of Battlefield V which many didn't understand what Dice was going for as it came up as a goofy steampunk game, It was later confirmed that it was a World War 2 historical shooter game but immediately accusations of the game not being historically accurate was thrown EA's way and it was based on the fact that the debut trailer a big focus that likely was on purpose is on prosthetic armed female British soldier on the front line which never happened, And there was another soldier carrying a katana which was out of the place, But many players saw these design decisions as Dice's way of rewrite history, World War 2 was fought mostly by men, Yes there were female soldiers but as far as I understand there weren't any prosthetic armed female British soldiers on the front lines.

The debut trailer of Battlefield V would be bombed by with dislikes and negative comments with a lot of peoples using hashtags, not my battlefield.

Anyway things really escalated when EA's executive and former boss of dice Patrick Soderlund gave an interview at E3 2018 and pretty much took a stance against those who were complaining about the game, Although the issue with his remarks that he made it out to be specifically about women in Battlefield V which I think never been a problem as some women certainly did serve, But the way Dice included them in the game is something many took issue with, Some seeing it as disrespectful, But Patrick Soduland made things much worse when he says the following: "on the women in Battlefield this is something that the development team pushed. Battlefield V is a lot about the unseen, The untold, The unplayed... The common perception is that there was no woman in world war 2, There were a ton of woman who fought in World War 2 and partook in the war. And I felt like in today's world I have a 13 years old daughter that when the trailer came out and she saw all the flak, And she asked me " Daddy, Why is this happening?" and she plays fortnight and says " I can be a girl in fortnite, Why people are so upset about this?" she looked at me and she couldn't understand it. And I'm like ok, As a parent, How the hell am I going to respond to this ? and I just said"you know what, Your right, This is not ok"
these are people who are uneducated - they don't understand that this is a plausible scenario And listen: This is a game. and today gaming is gender-reversed, Like it hasn't been before, There are a lot of female people who want to play, and male players who want to play as a badass woman, And we don't take any flak, We stand up for the cause, Because I think those people who don't understand it, well you have two choices: either accept it or don't but the game, I'm fine with either or, It's just not ok."

So yeah calling your player uneducated and giving them an ultimatum is bad for business which in my opinion Patrick is twisting players compliments into an issue over women being in the game, also making a comparison between fortnight and a World War 2 historical game seems a bit foolish.

However, no matter what your opinions on those comments or this whole issue, in general, it created divisions and for a while, angry gamers have been using the hashtag not my battlefield and other ones to state their displeasure with battlefield V.

Forbess Eric Kane pointed out " Much of the marketing has been geared toward attracting female players, apparently with a female soldier on the cover and an emphasis on female characters on single-player vignettes, I'm perfectly fine with the woman in the game like this, And have no bone to pick up with that decision, But it is an incredibly an odd marketing choice given that this game A) predominantly played by young men and boys and B) is a historical shooter about a war predominantly fought by young men and boys.
I suggest marketing the game as a traditional WWII entry (similar to Battlefield 1) would have been far more effective."

That is exactly right, it seems that EA really just shot themselves in their foot and in fall 2018 there were many other games releasing which would you think an entertainment company will be trying to persuade their core audience and consumers to buy their game.

But in all honesty, EA gave a lot of reasons to pick up games like black ops 4 and Red Dead Redemption 2 as their cane went on to add "More than anything, It seems like EA and Dice are simply very out-of-touch with their target demographic. By all means, include woman in the game, but don't try to earn brownies points by making it seem like you are championing some social cause. EA wants to make money, Not to change the world.
I just want a good WW2 shooter."

Bethesda Lies, Gave Influencers Fallout 76 Canvas Bags For Free In September

The biggest issue right now that I'm having with Bethesda is the lies, And the past was a fun joke is Todd Howard often sais some things about this game that didn't come true.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, A YouTuber made a great compilation of some Todd's little sweet lies, But this whole mess with Fallout 76 is a lot different, And I would say it's a lot different because the product release was just abysmal, It was bad, Which is really strange because Bethesda in the past as a publisher really empathized pushing out quality games, Last year they bragged about being the savior of single-player games, It even got rewarded by the Metacritic top publisher in 2017 based on the fact that they had the highest review scores for all the games combined they were released last year by them.

Even in the past, they canceled games that supposedly were not up to their quality standards, Pete Hines said in 2014 about their decision to cancel prey 2 which at the time was being developed by the human head studio where a game we believed in we never felt like it got where it needed to be, We never saw a path to success if we finished it, It wasn't up to our quality standards and we decided to cancel it, It's no longer under development, It's a franchise that we still believe we can do something with, We just need what something is, And eventually we will see that franchise rebooted with our canes underrated take on it last year.

But this is what confuses me, In the past, Bethesda cared about quality, But what the hell happened here in 2018 with Fallout 76?

We all know that they are rushing to release but was it that they needed to get Fallout 76 out this year because they had no other big releases in 2018? Or do they just think they can release a half-assed game and fix it later like so many other developers have done?

They are so many questions on how this game was allowed to release in its current state, but just outside of the game it seems like the Bethesda has done a lot of rushing, The big controversy that is raging on right now is that the power armor edition of Fallout 76 which is also the collector's edition that did not come out with everything that was promised, Specifically Bethesda chose to change the west tech duffel bag from canvas to nylon without notifying anyone, then tried to make excuses that it was too expensive and they soon said that the original reason that an employee who was necessarily connected to the company was inaccurate, and the real reason that there was a shortage in material although that doesn't make too much sense being that this isn't some extremely rare material and if you think that 200$ special edition  would be planned way ahead of time but like everything with Fallout 76 it was probably rushed and it was for money which point being Bethesda chose to make a larger profit over satisfying their most loyal customers, I mean if you think that this was not for money then they would have upgraded the bag not downgraded it, But even now Bthesda has declared the Special Edition one of their best which is a strange way to respond to anger over not giving player what they promised.

Now the issue with Bethesda not delivering what they promised is that they never told about the change in material to cheap nylon, They also never made an effort to change the Power Armour advertisement which is misleading, Something that many are asking and wanting the government agencies like the US Federal Trade Commission to investigate as this is blatant false advertising something that legally Bethesda can get in trouble for.

Besides just a potential FTC investigation law firms are already reaching out and trying to put a class-action lawsuit which I have to believe it's a case and based on Bethesda's refund policy on their store, Nobody can get a refund on Fallout 76 Power Armour Edition because it is a limited edition, and right now it a problem as Bethesda misled a bunch of customers, Although Bethesda is offering a crappy 500 atoms which are their make-believe currency for Fallout 76 to those affected.

The interesting thing about this is that this may be a legal trickery, So if you accept this offer under the law then you have been compensated and can't do legal action or fight for a refund later, Just be very careful because if you are not satisfied with this Nylon Power Armour Edition I believe Bethesda is obligated to give on what they originally promised unless you take 5 dollars in-game currency which in my opinion is quite pathetic.

But today there has been a very interesting update which continues to show Bethesda in a negative light, It's been outdated by a YouTuber HeelvsBabyFace that many influencers received free canvas bags of the green brayer event that happened back in September, If you recall this is where a bunch of YouTuber and gaming websites got to go and play Fallout 76 for the first time, And part of the trip of being flown to West-Virginia Bethesda Gave these content creators some free merchandise.

Now obviously none of these creators deserve any hate at all, They were just invited to an event and they had no way of knowing how badly Bethesda Would Bomb with Fallout 76, But the most telling part of these canvas bags is that Bethesda But and effort to get these influencers a high-quality bag when they could not do for their most loyal fans who coughed up to 200$ and that is extremely concerning and if I spent 200$ on The Power Armor Edition then all of this news would feel like a spit to my face from Bethesda, Still up to this point there has been no real apology from Bethesda, And what bothers me is that this canvas bag debacle is that I think there wasn't a shortage in materials but just mismanagement, and that's the best way to describe the whole Fallout 76 mess.

Fallout 76 Sales Down 82% - Fans Have Spoken

One of Fallout 76 biggest mysteries has just been solved, Why the hell they call it Fallout 76, well as it just turned out it was just Bethesda guessing how much this sale would drop from Fallout 4, Well they were wrong they should have called it 82.

The critic reviews may not be in for Fallout 76 just yet but what we do have are the opening weekend sales figures, According gamesindustry.biz Fallout 76 sales are down a whopping 82% over the Fallout's previous franchise entry fallout 4.

I must point out that these sales figures are only in the UK physical and retail and don't represent global sales, digital sales or trending decline in physical sales, despite it's falling sales Fallout 76 still managed to take the third place in the UK charts behind first-place Spyro Reignited Trilogy and second place Red Dead Redemption 2.

Clues as to why consumers have stayed away from the title aren't exactly difficult to find in places like Youtube and Reddit are rife with stinging critiques of the game, People are unhappy that it's an online multiplayer game are not a true sequel to Fallout 4 that it doesn't appeal to the core audience, There was the limited BETA test which opened only a few weeks prior to launch isn't even BETA at all at that stage, Much of the game seems like it has been copied over fallout 4, lock picking, hacking, and shoddy animations included.

There is poor performance across all the platforms, The PC version doesn't offer simple features like MOV slider and the framerates are locked at 63 FPS, As also the fact it isn't selling on steam there is also no human NPC's in the game and the world just feels empty, and the pvp actually sucks, the enemies buggy, has broken quests, glitches, crashes, instability etc.

This game makes Fallout 4 look good in comparison, there is also the fact that reviews from gaming outlets are nowhere to be seen, The Metacritic scores for Xbox and PS4 are currently ZERO  as not enough of outlets published reviews, Yet the PC reviews are showing us 54% based on four reviews, and that's all the consumers have to go on right now it's pretty slim pickings, You can't put that down to a crowded release window or just that reviewers did not have access to the game prior to launch they are all probably busy playing Red Dead Redemption 2 or Battlefield or Spyro, Reviewers aren't reviewing it and consumers arent's buying it

With Hacking And Cheating And Bugs - Is Bethesda Out Of Time?

So I was excited, I was waiting for so long to play Fallout 76 but I have been hearing some BAD news about it, so here goes.

Bethesda is about to release their multiplayer game Fallout 76, the game is currently in BETA but with a lot of issues, fans are getting worried.

It was a rocky start for fallout 76 even before the game an officially announced, with what is traditionally a single player franchise now making move to online multiplayer territory fallout 76 developers Bethesda are trading new ground, unfortunately for Bethesda Kotaku's Jason Schreyer leaked details of online-only game to the public before the official announcement, the community obviously started raising questions and we're also asking why Bethesda chosen to make the game exclusively an online experience against a serious tradition , this is not the start Bethesda would have wanted for the game especially they have to convince the fans of changes in the first place, ever since those only negative headlines things seem  to have gone from bad to worse for the Bethesda with an increasing amount of people being not happy for the game for one reason or another.

With early access beta now available, Bethesda have been hit with yet more criticism of the game with talk of poor performance bug glitches and exploits, one of the more notable issues was for PC players when they discovered the framerate was locked.

Last week a Reddit user named Otto 3:3 discovered that the framerate problem could be solved by editing an ini file but Bethesda apparently had good reasons to lock the frame rate in the first place , as unlocking it results in a speed hack this means that players can move through the world with increased movement speed potentially giving them an edge over other players for PVP, In an update to polygon Bethesda confirmed that they are aware of this issue but the fix won't be out until the game launches.

To answer the problem according to modern and ahir who spoke to an Eurogamer "the core of Fallout 76 is basically identical to Fallout 4", with Fallout 76 being an updated version of the Fallout 4 engine, the modding community are very familiar on how to mod the game , and with them already having to the tools and experience to break apart this multiplayer game, many have raised the concern that cheats mods could quickly become a problem in this online-only PVP experience.

Modding fallout for single player only game only alters your own personal experience while modding Fallout 76 an online based multiplayer based experience will impact other people in the game world who may not want mods in the game.

A Reddit thread by a user named teetharejustdone2 (what kind of name is that?) was gaining traction recently which details five reasons while using the old engine of fallout into six maybe wasn't the best idea, the first since responded to the issues saying "Many of the claims in the thread are either inaccurate or based on incorrect assumptions. The community has however called to attention several issues that our teams are already actively tracking and planning to roll out fixes for" "Our goal is always to deliver a great experience for all our player. Cheating or hacking will not be tolerated. We know our fan base is passionate about modding and customizing their experience in our world's and it's something we intend to support down the road" Fallout 76 is just now a week away we can just now imagine how this bad publicity can affect the sales and public perception of once industry darlings Bethesda.

Party Time For Activision

The latest entry in the call of duty franchise black ops 4 has just smashed in the opening of this weekend , making over a half million dollars sales.

"Black ops is off to a blockbuster start" said Rod cuastic executive vice president and general manager of call of duty to business wire .

This is a huge course-correct for the series after many fans seem to fall off with the annual release franchise with the launch of infinte warfare back in 2016 which received 77 on Ps4 on metacritic.

Last year's COD World War 2 returned the franchise on the 20th century root and fared a little better but only received 79 on ps4 on metacritic.

Thats not to say that COD World War 2 didn't do good , it also made a half million in launch sales which doubled infinite warfare launch.

With black ops 4 doing so well in terms of sales and critical reception currently setting at 85 on ps4 metacritic , This is a big win for activision.

Black ops 4 is also setting new franchise record for most combined players, average hours per player and a total number of hours played on current generation consoles according to business wire.

The game is also most viewed on twitch in franchise history according to business wire which can only further it's popularity, Without less noting the absence of campaign and the addition of the very popular Blackout battle royal mode making the all difference .

The game has still a little way to go before reaching monolithic success of it's Ps3 and Xbox 360 gyro cousins, with modern warfare 2 and black ops 1 and 2 taking the top spots with all three games having around 30 million units sold each as of January 2018.

If the enormous success of World War 2 and Black Ops 4 are recently anything to go by, the franchise does seem to be making a comeback.

This post is much smaller than my normal posts because I'm busy with other stuffs... another post will be coming tommorow .

Before You Buy Call Of Duty Black Ops 4

Today I'm talking about call of duty black ops 4, I have been playing the hell out of this game since it dropped, I,m gonna bring this down by modes since each is pretty much fully featured stand alone thing.

In this Post I will be talking about multiplayer but tommorow i well continue with the zombies mode.

But overall in the whole package do you hate call of duty?... well you're probably still going to , are you a dye hard fan? well i'm not but the game seems pretty good to me and if you are like me who has been a fan who has been a fan from the beginning but dropped off the multiplayer train for a last few games, Well this feels like a pretty good package except the package is missing a goddamned single player campaign but I will get to that.

Let's start off with your standard competitive multiplayer .

I like having a health bar again...call me old fashioned but it feels good to have something like that to manage , I think that the fact that now it's  mechanic that you have to work in your muscle memory makes a big difference in moment-to-moment gameplay, shooting though otherwise it feels like Call Of Duty , love it or hate it, Its really good it's controls are really tight and it's super fast-paced , it also feels the same as usual.

The speacialist work really well this time , the focus on them is just enough to not feel obnoxious but also add a smart level of strategy .

It bums me out that you can't customize them from head to toe clothing items you earn through leveling up ,but seriously learning the ins and outs of them is pretty fun. It takes light elements from hero shooters in terms of mechanics but let me be clear , This isn't like Overwatch or anything don't worry.

But certain abilities work really well for certain wither for defend yourself or to counter or screw up you're opponent, It's just satisfying when you use nine banks thumb gernade perfectly in a room or you let your cool dog do all the work you get a downward slam explosion or you just fortify your shit really well and block off some lanes .

On the other hand maps have a nice kind of standard COD looks to them nothing crazy and over the top futristic with some good close quarters sections and creative areas too , I'm not an expert with maps stuffs so I don't know how they will work out long term but some scenarios and lanes feel creative enough to me .

Now progression is the best in standard multiplayer , building out you class is absolute necessity and there are tons of challenges and tasks to complete to level up a lot to grind through perks and lots of weapon stuff , That pick-ten system is still great i really love that it's here and i'm glad that it's here .

You have a lot of controlls over how play considering you have to choose a specific character and i'm so glad it feels that way, grinding through the ranks is call of duty's style for since the modern warfare and you well probably get addicted.

Body armor is a selectable thing and it is shaking up the thing a lot , it pissed me off on occasions but it makes the game feel a tiny bet diffirent, peoples seem to be kind of divided on it and the game and the community will evovle over time so i don't want to say anything difinitive on it yet.
